Paula Barclay has a wealth of experience in HR.
Paula joined PPM in 2013 and has over 20 years experience in HR, including managing a team of recruitment specialists and providing generalist HR advice and support to various internal departments. She was heavily involved in the restructuring exercise of Northern Rock in 2008 and following this she became HR business partner with UKAR (the government-owned elements of Northern Rock and Bradford & Bingley) for a further 4 years.
In this role, Paula assessed and anticipated HR-related needs to deliver a value-added service to management and employees reflecting the business objectives of the organisation. Proving that when employees feel motivated and valued, a positive environment is created for all concerned, enabling your organisation to achieve more.
Since joining PPM, Paula works mainly with our clients in the education sector, both with Academies and maintained schools who have chosen to opt-out of the local authority HR service, her knowledge and experience together with practical options (including risk analysis) offers our clients the outcome required whilst adhering to employment law standards.
Paula is able to build relationships with her clients by earning the trust of Managers and their staff. She very quickly understands the culture and aims of a business and can deliver a service which adds value and deals with all HR issues, including the ‘grey’ areas.
